STEPs is a Pathway to High Skilled Technology Jobs

OUR MISSION

The STEPs pre-apprenticeship program’s mission is to create a fully integrated training and placement program using the principles of universal design to train and prepare individuals for STEM-based technology jobs in all sectors of in-demand industries. STEPs graduates will be industry ready for on-the-job technician training. Top graduates will enter industry apprenticeships.

WHO WE ARE

We are business leaders, collaborating with educational, workforce and disability agency experts to create high skilled industry technicians capable of constantly learning how to create / operate / repair high-tech products and equipment and adapt / apply their gained skills to new technologies, markets and work opportunities. STEPS calls such persons Master Technologists, or MTechs for short.

WHAT IS STEPs

STEPs is an industry-driven pre-apprenticeship program, meaning embedded within the framework of the STEPs program are core elements that industry states they must have taught for an individual to start a career pathway leading to apprenticeships. Industry-driven also means assessments and certifications used to attest to an individual’s qualifications for a job placement must be those recognized by industry.
